If you already have a business then you should already have a business plan.
If you have no business yet – then you are in the right place!
Unless you intend to seek funding from a bank, or investors, don’t get too bogged down with creating an elaborate Business Plan.
The Internet has made it possible for people to start and operate very profitable businesses with hardly no money at all. Knowledge is the key – but you MUST TAKE ACTION or you will not succeed.
It is important to create a useful plan but it is best to keep it as simple as possible. You can actually have fun as you do the research for your website. Stick to the basics.
You must research your potential customers, competitors, product offerings and a few other market elements in order to write your plan.
One of the easiest parts of doing the research is visiting other websites to see how they are set up. Visit those sites like you are a customer. Make notes on what you like and don’t like. Then use that info when you build your website.
It can be fun, and very comforting, doing research that you know will result in you making money. It may seem like a lot of work but it really is easy once you get started. Just a couple of hours spent visiting competitor websites can give you a pretty good idea of what you may want your site to look like.
Once you have your website set up on the Internet, and you are making money while you sleep, it will all be worth it!
If you have never written a business plan it may seem difficult. But it is not.
Everything you need to research and write your plan is available on the Internet.
But all that information can be absolutely overwhelming if you are not exactly sure what you are looking for or where to look.
That is why you need to stick to the basics. Keep it simple. You will learn as you DO the tasks required.
The SBA has a great section with FREE video training classes on how to write a business plan.
As you review the SBA site think in terms of how you can use the Internet and affiliate marketing in your business plan. But remember to keep it simple. Your focus should be on moving forward and learning what is needed to create your website. You can actually just do a plan outline, and fill in the blanks, as you continue moving forward to build your website.
Do not get too bogged down in planning. You do not know enough right yet to plan properly. Keep moving forward and learn as you go.
The SBA explains everything in easy to follow plain language. Visit the SBA Website but do not spend too much time trying to plan or you will go crazy!
